Practical information

🧠 Theoretical Examination – EREPS 3 Fitness Trainer

Objective: To assess the knowledge acquired during the training course.
Format: 50 multiple-choice questions (only one correct answer).
Pass mark: Minimum 70% correct answers.

⏱ Duration: 60 minutes 💻 Method: Online examination via a secure platform 📱 Authorised equipment: tablet or computer with Internet access (mobile phones are not permitted) 📶 Connection: Wi-Fi available at the training venue

⚙️ Procedure: Examination conducted in a room, under supervision. Candidates may modify their answers before validation. Results communicated within 15 minutes of the end of the session.

💰 Retakes: Up to 3 attempts (1 initial + 2 retakes). Fee: €100 per retake session.


🏋️ Practical Examination – EREPS 3 Fitness Trainer

🎯 Objective: To assess the candidate's ability to design, justify and present a training programme adapted to a real-life situation.

📋 Test content:

Case study handed out on the last day of training.

3 complementary parts:

  • Session creation: to be written on an official digital template (no handwritten documents accepted).
  • Oral defence: presentation of the programme to an examiner
  • Technical demonstration: correct execution of the exercises, with technical explanations and safety instructions.

✅ Pass mark: Minimum 70% required to pass the test.

📘 EREPS 3 & EREPS 4 internships

🎯 General objective Practical internships allow future coaches to apply the skills acquired during training in a real professional environment. They are a mandatory step for the validation of EREPS 3 (Fitness Trainer) and EREPS 4 (Personal Trainer) certifications, in accordance with EuropeActive and NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) standards.

🏋️‍♂️ EREPS 3 Internship – Fitness Trainer (EQF Level 3)

🎯 Internship objectives Put into practice the technical skills and training principles learned during the training course. Observe and assist a certified coach in supervising individual or group sessions. Understand how a fitness centre operates (reception, safety, hygiene, equipment, professional conduct). Develop communication, customer relations and sports instructor skills.

⏱ Mandatory duration: Minimum of 20 hours of supervised practical experience.

📍 Location and supervision: Internship to be carried out in a fitness club or private studio.

📘 Main tasks

  • Observe and participate in the supervision of members in the weight training and cardio areas.
  • Assist the tutor in demonstrating exercises and correcting technique.
  • Apply safety and hygiene rules.
  • Help set up and tidy away equipment.
  • Keep the logbook up to date, signed by the tutor at each session.

🧾 Validation

  • Assessment of observed skills (technical, interpersonal, safety).
  • Validation by the centre's lead trainer.

💪 EREPS 4 Internship – Personal Trainer (EQF Level 4 / NASM)

🎯 Course objectives

  • Develop the ability to analyse a client's needs and design a personalised programme.
  • Plan, supervise and monitor individualised training sessions.
  • Apply the principles of progression, motivation and professional communication.
  • Implement the skills of an autonomous Personal Trainer according to EuropeActive and NASM standards.

⏱ Mandatory duration Minimum of 20 hours of supervised practice, to be recorded in the official logbook provided by the training centre.

📍 Location and supervision Internship to be carried out in a professional environment (club, studio, private gym, functional box, etc.). Supervision by an experienced Personal Trainer (EREPS 4 / NASM).

📘 Main tasks

  • Carry out a complete assessment of the client's profile (assessment, objectives, history).
  • Design an individualised training programme.
  • Supervise actual sessions with partial autonomy.
  • Correct technique, ensure safety and adapt exercises.
  • Communicate effectively with the client to maintain commitment and motivation.

🧾 Validation

  • Presentation of the complete and signed logbook.
  • Assessment of the relevance of the programmes, the quality of the coaching and professionalism.
  • Final validation by the reference trainer or the EREPS/NASM jury.

🧠 General rules for all internships

  • The intern must be insured and comply with the club's internal rules.
  • The logbook is an official document required for certification.
  • The 20 hours of internship must be completed before the final practical exam.
